Established in 2015, Hearth is co-owned by CIA graduate Clint Compton, with partners Sam and Dawn Caldow of Big Sam’s Raw Bar in Rudee Inlet. What began as a single mobile, wood-fired pizza oven quickly grew into a full-service restaurant located in the heart of the ViBe District of Virginia Beach. Hearth offers wood-fired New American cuisine with a nod to Southern roots, craft beer, cocktails, and a variety of wines. Greeted by the sights and smells of an open kitchen, you are given a view of the large wood-fired oven and front row seats to the skilled preparation of your meal. A well-informed staff will guide you through a menu that includes shareable appetizers such as a cheese and charcuterie board, a heaping plate of garlic herb fries, or one of many wood-fired pizzas, followed by the oven-roasted half chicken, steak frites, or seafood options. Often described as casual fine dining, it is the perfect setting for memorable celebratory dinners, or the more relaxed experience of drinks and a meal while seated at the bar.
