Baladi Mediterranean Cafe

Considered as one of the best restaurants in Virginia Beach! Course 1

Swiss Chard, Chick peas and Sumac Salad (Vegan and Gluten Free)

Tangy and nutritious with sautéed Julian onions, garlic, and fresh mint. Served warm.

Baked Eggplant (Vegetarian and Gluten Free)

Beharat-spiced eggplant steak, goat cheese, roasted red ppepers, and an almond-spinach-parsley-basil pesto.
(Beharat is a Mid-Eastern seven spice blend.)

Chickpeas Soup (Vegan and Gluten Free)

Whole Chickpeas simmered with diced onions, minced garlic, chopped celery, fresh oregano, spices and a hint of cayenne.

Course 2

Malfoof - Stuffed Cabbage (Vegan and Gluten Free)

Hand-rolled tender cabbage leaves stuffed with a savory mix of brown rice, diced tomatoes, diced onions, chickpeas, and spices. Cooked in a light tomato, garlic and lemon juice broth.

Baked Cornish Hens (Gluten Free)

Marinated tender Cornish hens, served with basmati rice and a side of shredded red cabbage and carrots salad.

Spicy Tahini Halibut (Gluten Free. Substitute Tofu for a Vegan Option)

Pan-seared fillet of Halibut or grouper served with dill-garlic red skin potatoes and
a Julian-vegetables spicy tahini sauce.

Course 3

Moroccan Chocolate Cake

Homemade with dark chocolate, toasted almonds and fresh dates. Contains no added sugar. Topped with fresh strawberries and a sugarless chocolate syrup.

Mamool (Vegan)

A delicious semolina flour pastry stuffed with dates and lightly dusted with powder sugar.

Marinated strips of chicken breast grilled with, diced tomatoes, fresh cilantro, and minced garlic, a top a layer of hummus. Served with pita, olives and pickled turnips. Add serrano peppers for a spicy twist.
Chicken marinade has: clove, nutmeg, white pepper, sumac, paprika, Italian seasoning, garlic, olive oil, and lemon juice.
